Becky Ramsey was honored with a reception on April 3 for her 40 years of service as organist for First United Methodist Church of Covington.

She was presented with two plaques mounted with ruby red organ shoes, a floral arrangement of red roses, and a bracelet of rubies from the choirs and congregation. The items are symbolic of the ruby, the gemstone associated with 40th anniversaries.

During the 11 a.m. service, the Chancel Choir presented an anthem, "When in Our Music God Is Glorified," accompanied by Ramsey at the organ, and with trumpet and handbells. The anthem was composed in l971, the first year of her tenure at the church.

In addition to her duties as organist, she is also director of the church's Singing Saints Choir.
