Working together

The first Remembering Lewis Grizzard weekend must be considered a success, especially for an inaugural event.

The Rotary clubs of Covington and Social Circle raised close to $6,000 for their worthwhile community projects.

We are encouraged to see that the committee that organized this project has plans to continue this celebration of Southern humor from year to year.

What pleases us the most, though, is that both Rotary clubs crossed over the imaginary line separating our communities and worked hand and for the benefit of both.

This is progress; we would like to see more of this. In today's world, divided we will surely fail. By working together as a team, both of our communities will be the better for the effort.
