Two candidates will be appearing on the ballot for Covington mayor in November. You can read more about them both here, and can watch interviews with the two candidates online here and here.
The two candidates are Ronnie Johnston and Bobby Sigman. Sigman has lived in Covington his whole life and been a major player in local politics for years. Johnston moved to Covington three years ago, and is running after falling in love with the city.
The Covington News will be hosting a forum for the candidates to take questions and discuss issues before the election. The forum will be held Oct. 25, though a location has yet to be determined. We'll keep you posted.
The News isn't endorsing any one candidate, but we do encourage our residents to make a thoughtful, informed decision on election day. We need to elect a leader who will be honest and accountable for their actions and who will put the concerns of the citizens - and not their own personal agenda - in front.
Lastly, we'd like to encourage our residents to get out and vote on election day. This vote will determine the course of Covington for the next few years. Let's choose wisely.
