It is just amazing that no one has the authority or the determination to take down the useless stop signs at the non-used railroad crossings in Newton County.
To hop through all the hoops that chairman Morgan suggested in a recent story just doesn’t make sense.
When a government gets so complicated that a local municipality cannot put up and take down stop signs in its community when it is prudent to do so, we should surely be afraid of our future.
We hope that there has been no effort to issue tickets for those who have accidentally not stopped at these rail crossings recently. If there has been an effort made, it is a pure shame.
