 Dr. Brown impresses us with her enthusiasm.

 She considers herself as a teacher first — a particularly good trait for a principal. A wise man once said that as a professional, you should never "forget who brought you to the dance." We encourage Dr. Brown to remember that simple philosophy as she assumes her administrative responsibilities.

 Dr. Brown said she wants to work with the community to help the students and teachers of Alcovy High reach their fullest potential academically and in extracurricular endeavors.

 This is an honorable approach to her new job; the citizens of Newton County have a vested interest in seeing Alcovy High achieve excellence.

 Just as Dr. Roderick Sams brought a renewed spirit and sense of excitement to Newton High after his hiring last year, we expect nothing less from Dr. Brown.

 We feel Dr. Brown deserves cooperation and support not only from the community, but from her faculty as well.
