Our thoughts... Tooth ache

The Covington City Council began the process this week to reduce the size of signage for businesses in the community. It was a direct response the many giant molars positioned along Ga. Highway 81.

This measure is a step in the right direction.

Signs of all sizes and shapes along a roadway can be very ugly. Enormous teeth signs certainly fit that description. Those signs on Washington Street are a disgrace; in our opinion the people who put them up have no concern for the esthetics of their community.

The city council should not grandfather these signs or any similar ones into the new ordinance.
