A sure sign of summer being over is the the annual Fuzz Run by the Covington Police.

This year’s event will be the 27th year of this honorable tradition.

The event will be held on Sept. 11 and will begin with at 8 a.m. There will be one-mile Fun Run, followed by the 3.1 mile Fuzz Run, which begins at 8:30 a.m.

Registration for this Covington tradition is only $20 per person, with the proceeds going to benefit the Police Who Care Fund, a local charity that provides assistance to local families in need.

More than 2,400 contestants participated last year, and helped rise over $25,000.

With your registration, you will receive an ever-popular Fuzz Run shirt to wear with pride.

There will be awards for the runners who excel.

This run is just one example that we not only have a police force that protects us, but one that actually serves our community by personally caring for its needs.
