As summer winds to a close and we welcome in autumn, there’s one thing left to do before the seasons change.
We have to go to the local fair. We need to ride the Ferris wheel and merry-go-round and need to sample some of that classic food on the midway.
Fortunately, Newton County residents don’t have far to go this week to have some fun at a fair. For the seventh year in a row, the Social Circle Rotarians are sponsoring a fair with rides, food and exciting local music.
The fair features rides provided by McNair amusements and will be held behind the high school in Social Circle. The fair runs through Saturday night.
The best part about this fair is that all the proceeds benefit students in the local schools in the form of scholarships, supplies for teachers and benefits the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy.
At the Covington News, we fondly remember enjoying the sights and sounds of summer at our local fair, and we think it’s fantastic that the Rotary of Social Circle is preserving that tradition for new generations.
We’ll see you at the fair.
