In Sunday’s edition of The Covington News, we ran a guest column by Trish Bilich, who attended Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor event in Washington, D.C., a few weekends ago.
We thought that one thing she said jumped out and made perfect sense to us.
She said, "we, the people, need to stop blaming."
Miss Bilich, you are absolutely right.
A lot of our problems as a community, and as a country, could be resolved if, instead of placing blame, we simply decided to devote our resources to solving the problem.
Similarly, as readers and citizens, instead of responding with blame and anger only after something has transpired, maybe we could become more involved with process to achieve results we desire.
Maybe this sage advice could be applied to these "Our thoughts..." columns themselves.
We’ll think about it.
