Members of the General Ray Davis Marine Corps Detachment 1188 of Covington are working on a project that will preserve a piece of our nation’s history for future generations of Americans.

Senior Vice Commandant Bud Malmstrom is organizing a project where local Marine and Navy corpsmen veterans will be holding a videotaping session in the form of a round table discussion of their military experiences.

There is already a commitment from two Marine veterans to share their stories of fighting in the World War II battle of Iwo Jima.

The taping will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Little Red School House located at 3130 Newton Drive, Covington.

The finished tape will be sent to the Marine Corps League National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and eventually will be placed on CovNews.com.

If you would like to participate, contact Malmstrom at (770) 713-7322.
