We are particularly proud of the fact that the Covington Police Department has been recognized internationally for its excellent service.

Our police department was the first in the state to be recognized in such a way and is one of ten in the whole country to be so honored.

At a special reception for the community held last Thursday, Chief Cotton bragged about his department — he had every right to do so! — and said, "that in this world, we want to be served by people in high risk situations that are certified, accredited and who meet some kind of standards."
