Over the last few months we have had three major trials at our local courthouse; all three were held with little or none of the problems we have seen at other such trials held across the state and around the nation.

We should be proud of the caliber of professionalism shown by the Newton County district attorney’s office run by Ken Wynne, the clerk of courts office led by Linda Hays and the Sheriff’s Department led by Ezell Brown.

The cooperation between these departments is a remarkable accomplishment considering the different personalities it takes to run each of these departments.

We applaud the efforts of all involved for keeping us off the map of shame for bad courtroom antics and exhausting trial delays.
