We are glad that the Newton County Board of Commissioners has started the process of installing a traffic light at the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Ga. Highway 212 in the western part of the county.

This intersection without a doubt is one of the most travelled as well as dangerous traffic spots in the county.

In the future, this section of highway needs to be widened to make it truly safe.

The state pulled the money for this project earlier because of budget constraints. Hopefully, with the BOC‘s action this week, the safety of this congested hub will now become a state priority again.
