Our thoughts... Be a big shot

Recently you may have enjoyed our weekly feature, Friday Scrapbook. For the most part, the images you see on our scrapbook page are taken and submitted by people who do not work for the newspaper. Many photo submissions are taken by amateurs, yet they are just as beautiful as those taken by professionals.

The Covington News has a small staff and though we strive to be, we just can’t be every where at once. This time of year, when the weather is mild, is particularly difficult because there are so many things going on all around the county.

This is where you enter the picture. Just about everyone has a cell phone these days and most of them have the ability to take a photograph. If you snap a picture of a wreck on the way home from work or see a family of deer cross a country road, send it to us.

Whether it’s a picture of a four-alarm fire or of your grandchildren picking dandelions, every photo will be considered for use in our paper or online edition. Of course, we’ll give you full credit for your photos.

Photos can be sent via e-mail to news@covnews.com. Just tell us your name and what’s going on in the picture.

This publication is yours, not ours. We want you to be an integral part of our reporting and record-keeping process — after all, that’s true community journalism.
