Friday was an exciting day for us here at The Covington News, we debuted a new interactive, user friendly, state of the art Web page, covnews.com.

This new Web site will allow The Covington News to be, in fact, a daily newspaper as the paper and Web site will work hand in hand to bring you the latest local breaking news and sports.

The new Web site will feature videos and in the future live reports on events effecting Newton County and our surrounding area.

The most exciting feature of the new Web site is our community section; by clicking on it, your club, your organization or you yourself can upload stories and pictures about your group's activities or your sports teams. The best part is you can do it yourself.

You will be able to go to our restaurant guide and, as it develops, see menus and locations and read recommendations from folks who have already eaten there.

Our ask the expert portion of the Web site will allow you to ask questions and receive answers direct from an expert in the field you have concerns about it.

If you ever fancied yourself as a columnist or wanted to write touching stories about your families so that the kin folks across the country could read about them, you can become a blogger it's as simple as a couple of clicks.

The new Web site will allow our advertisers to send their message out to places that neither our newspaper nor any other advertising medium has ever gone.

Some of us are computer challenged; even we will find the Web site easy to navigate.

The future of community newspapers has never been better the addition of covnews.com to work in partnership with The Covington News insures that we can continue our 144 years of partnership with the families of Newton County for generations to come.

If you have any questions or need help navigating the new Web site, please call us, at (770) 787-6397; we would love to hear from you.
