You might have noticed that today’s paper is larger than usual and has more color in it.

Our staff has compiled pictures and stories of the great rain of ’09 over the last week and we thought you would enjoy seeing some of the fury and beauty of nature.

After such disasters it reminds us again that in spite of all our attempts, man cannot control nature.

It also reminds us that in spite of the pain and destruction nature can produce; there is a certain beauty that comes with it.

We were fortunate compared to our neighboring counties such as Cobb and Douglas.

Many reports indicate that some of those folks will never recover their losses. We should keep our neighbors who have lost possessions in our thoughts.
