When the idea of building a Miracle League Field and playground was raised, especially at the beginning of the "great recession," it seemed, to be frank, like so much folly.

But, through the determination of former Recreation Department director Tommy Hailey and his staff, and the many volunteers who became involved, the Miracle League complex is almost a reality.

If you would like to see the progress, take a ride out to City Pond Park.

When completed, the park and playground will be a testament to the determination of a group of believers who just wouldn’t bow to the "it-can’t-be-done" mindset.
