We recently ran a story about the difficulties local law enforcement have in busting local massage parlors that offer more than massages.
We suggest the Covington City Council take a look at the requirements that the city of Conyers is about to implement to see if those could work here in Covington.
The requirements will ensure that employees be a U.S. citizen, older than 18, consent to a background check and fingerprinting, provide two photo IDs, list their complete license history and be state certified, among many other stringent stipulations.
As we've said previously, we don't suggest the city try to control people's morals, but we would like to see any illegal activity stopped, particularly the possible human trafficking that could be happening under our noses.
We encourage city officials to see if we could see the stricter regulations could work here.
