On Friday we were sad to report that Berry Plastics would be closing it's doors in January, leaving 60 people without jobs.

On the front page today, though, we're pleased to report that Vestar Technologies will be locating it's headquarters, and a new manufacturing plant, in Covington. According to reports, this will generate 100 new jobs in the next several years.

The project, code-named Project Leviathan, is expected to begin operating as soon as December.

Best yet, our local chamber of commerce is working to help employees laid off from Berry Plastics find work with this new company.

Kudos to the chamber for their efforts and for making Covington such an appealing prospect for industries everywhere.
