Some people carry around a big brass drum on their backs to announce every time they do something good or special for people.

Some people just quietly go along spreading good will and showing kindness to people every day of their lives and never say anything.

In our community, we are fortunate to have such a man.

Timothy K. Adams Sr. has spent his life in service to mankind, first as a school teacher for 36 years and then as the director of our first class community band for 21 more.

Along the way, his quiet, unassuming spirit has touched and made better the lives of thousands of people.

Mr. T.K. is, in our eyes, an example of what a true gentleman is.

This Monday he will officially conduct his beloved band for the last time at 7:30 p.m. at Eastside High School.

The band’s spring concert performance, no doubt, will be spectacular just like the life of the man who is conducting it.

This is a great opportunity for community members and former students to attend, showing Mr. T.K. the love he deserves. The concert is free.
