Happy Thanksgiving

The fun part of the year is upon us; this week we celebrate Thanksgiving.

Many people will be traveling to Grandma’s, or just going somewhere to take a long holiday break.

We would like to remind you of a few things that might help you and your loved ones enjoy the holiday.

If you are going to deep-fry a turkey, make sure to read the directions and follow them when using the hot oil that is involved. Otherwise, you can be burned severely or burn your house down.

If you’re driving, don’t drink alcohol. Period. If you are going to a party and know you will be imbibing, make sure you have a designated driver or know the phone number of a local taxi company.

If you drink and drive, you are risking your life and the lives of others. You also could lose your job and carry the stigma of a drunken-driving conviction for the rest of your life.

Also, when driving over this holiday season, pay careful attention to speed limits. The Georgia State Patrol has issued a warning that there will be no leeway given in posted speed areas.

That will include, in some cases, even 1 mph over the limit.

Save your hard-earned money for better purposes. Plan to take a little extra time to get where you are going.

Here’s hoping you have a safe and peaceful holiday season. You are responsible for doing your part to ensure that this is what happens.
