The Covington City Council has made two practical decisions that could contribute to economic growth in the future.
The city decided to take back control of Legion Field with the idea that this property can be transformed into a venue that not only will attract more practical uses, but also will be a revenue source for the city and could help to keep taxes low in the future.
In developing Legion Field into a place where citizen residents can enjoy some first-class entertainment, planners need to do their best to mitigate noise and crowd-control issues so that residents in the area do not suffer major inconveniences.
The council also voted to offer a small business incentive package for the first time.
We agree with the council’s initiative and encourage continued cooperation to attract small businesses to our community.
