The selection this week of Newton County High School Principal Craig Lockhart as the new deputy superintendent of the Newton County School System was a good move by new school Superintendent Samantha Fuhrey.
Lockhart has done a tremendous job of leading Newton High School for the past three years.
Although we don’t know who will be appointed to fill his big shoes at Newton as it begins a new era of education in brand-new digs, we assume that with Lockhart’s help, Fuhrey will make another wise decision.
We look forward to a new era of educational growth under the leadership of Samantha Fuhrey and Craig Lockhart as they officially take over the reins of leadership July 1.
