Lately, we have been talking about how industries like Baxter International relocating here are going to be a boon to our local economy.

The problem is all we have been able to do is talk about the benefits.

Finally, Crown Communities is proposing to build a whole new development here in Newton County.

This exciting news was in the Sunday edition, but if you missed it, you can catch up on CovNews.com. The large home builder out of Atlanta has proposed to build a 211-house subdivision to be called Silver Ridge Farms and will be located at the intersection of Jack Neely and Harold Dobbs roads in the county.

From all reports, these will be nice-sized homes set at reasonable prices.

The new homes will be the first development built under the county’s new overlay plan.

The BOC, with a recommendation from the Planning Commission, is expected to vote soon to allow the development to proceed.

According to company spokesman Phil Corley, if approved, the company plans to break ground by mid-April.

It looks like the great revival is about to begin.

Good news for all of us.
