We have a downtown that is the envy of many cities across the state of Georgia.

Not only is it beautiful, it is historical and vibrant.
One of the main reasons for this is the vision set forth by city and county leaders who have supported a strong Main Street Covington program.

Josephine Kelly has done a great job of seeing that Main Street has worked hard to maintain the integrity of our downtown square.

As a result of this stewardship and our local leadership, the square has attracted film crews for television series and movies that have in turn attracted visitors from around the world to our fair city.

It also is the focal point of many community activities.
Today we will be welcoming members of the Georgia Cities Foundation, a nonprofit group dedicated to revitalizing and enhancing Georgia's downtowns.
