For 60-plus years, the Covington Rotary has helped make Christmas a little more pleasant for families in the community who are experiencing some tough times.
This past weekend the Rotary distributed Christmas presents to more than 300 families, which included 740 children. They weren’t alone, of course. They made their special deliveries along with some of their friends: Buddy Morgan; Pactiv employees; General Mills employees; the Learning Center; United Way; Betty Bellairs in honor of her late husband a long-time Rotarian, Dick; the Covington Woman’s Club; and the employees of Snapping Shoals
It’s people helping people that truly is a trademark of our community. The Rotarians have proved that point year in and year out.
We thank them for their volunteerism and for helping keep the true Christmas spirit alive in Newton County.
