Community Meeting

If you’ve always wanted to give city officials a piece of your mind, praise them for their great work or, perhaps the most likely, simply ask them some burning questions, now’s your chance.

Mayor Ronnie Johnston is kicking off his community outreach program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Nelson Heights Community Center, located at the intersection of Puckett and Lassiter streets.

You and your whole family can come out and share your thoughts with your city leaders. The mayor has promised hot dogs, chips and even cookies for all who come out. Meetings like these are planned to be held every three months with each event happening in a different part of the city.

We think this is a great idea and encourage you to interact with your elected officials and city employees. Ask them questions and tell them your issues. We salute the mayor and council for taking their time Saturday to make themselves available to the citizens of our city; it’s now up to you to show up and be engaged.
