We have heard some grumblings from people who didn’t understand why county schools were closed Friday.

Quite frankly, we were a little puzzled ourselves, until we drove out in portions of the county where ice was still a problem on secondary roads.

We have given the school system the power to manage our children during their school years

It is best that if it errs, it is always on the side of safety.

With all the hell that Atlanta officials and state officials received for their slow decision-making during the freaky ice storm this past week, don’t be surprised if even a lone snowflake leads to the closing of the county schools in the future.
