Christmas Parade

This weekend, you won't have to go too far to get yourself in the Christmas spirit.

The Covington Lions and Main Street Covington will present the community's annual Christmas parade Saturday starting at 11 a.m. and departing from Newton Drive.

This year's event promises to be bigger than ever and will feature Julie Thompson, Newton's Teacher of the Year, as Grand Marshal.

We noted in the Wednesday edition of The Covington News that Santa Claus has cleared some time with his schedule to visit Covington a couple of times before the big day comes.

This in itself is a big honor for all of us.

One of Santa's visits include making an appearance in the parade.

Gather your family, dress warmly and find yourself a good spot to enjoy the Covington Lions community Christmas parade.
