We were glad to see that the city of Covington and Newton County governments have agreed to share the cost of keeping clean the main exits off Interstate 20 leading into Covington. That involves cutting grass and keeping trash picked up.

When we, as a community, are trying our best to attract new businesses and entice tourists to visit and perhaps settle here, it’s important that their first impressions are good ones.

At times, those entrances to the city have looked more like entrances to Third World cities.

We hope to see even more cooperation involving projects that affect both city and county residents.
