If you are driving down a Georgia highway and you see a big green sign touting the fact that work being done in that area is being provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a federal stimulus program being paid for by your federal taxes, note that each one of those signs cost about $1,200. At least 250 plus projects are planned in the state according to a report in the AJC recently.
This seems ludicrous to us, especially since these signs are not a federal requirement.
With such a tight budget, it seems that our state government could find a better use of this tax money.
Our neighbors in Virginia chose not to be as wasteful as our government has chosen to be. Perhaps we could emulate our neighbors to the north.
