In these tough economic times the nonprofits in our area are taking a real hit, which is putting some of their good works in jeopardy.
We are glad to say that the Newton Fund, a local fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, is still viable and willing to help our local charitable agencies in any way they can.
This is the 10th year of the group's operation, which is run by a local board of directors.
Since its inception, the Newton Fund has provided more than $220,000 to local non-profit groups.
The Newton Fund is now taking applications from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations.
The Fund will accept grant requests until Oct. 2. For more information, contact Jasper Tanner at jtanner@cfgreateratlanta.org.
