Dear Editor: We would like to thank all of the precious people who donated money and their time to help purchase safety vests for our Newton County Sheriff Deputies. We are so thrilled that we have met our goal. Thank you to all the individuals, churches, Sunday school classes, civic groups, restaurants, businesses and industries for your help in accomplishing this goal. We would especially like to thank the Covington News for publicizing our efforts every week in their paper. Once again, thank you for caring about the safety of those who put their lives on the line to protect our county.
