Letter: Officer Cooper's parents thank community for support
Letters - OPINION

To Covington,

I have tried several times to sit down and thank you for all of your love and support and most importantly your prayers. Every time I feel like there are no words to express how grateful and blessed our family is for all of you. I know there is no way to thank everyone individually, so I hope and pray this will reach as many as I can.

In the blink of an eye our whole world was turned upside down on Labor Day. Since then, everyday has been a constant rollercoaster of emotions. 1st Corinthians 10:13 says that God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted by what you cannot bear and He will provide a way so we can endure it. The only way we can endure this long journey ahead for us is through your continued prayers for our family. I can assure each of you that we sincerely feel your prayers and that is what is holding us up. The outpouring of love and support from our community and across the United States has been very overwhelming and humbling.

I know there is a lot of bad in this world, but I also know there is a lot of good. That is very evident in all the cards and letters we have received from here at home and all over the United States. Like Kristen has already said, we are so thankful and proud to call Covington our home.

I know in my heart that God has a great plan for Matt and my prayer every day, numerous times a day, is that God will let Matt get back to 100 percent and that Gode will be glorified through it all. God is the great Physician and we are putting all of our faith in Him.

Please don’t stop praying for Matt’s full recovery.

Thank you again and may God bless all of you.

Coley and Sharon Cooper
