Council actions troubling

There are two actions, one taken and one on the table of the city council. The council has given themselves, including the mayor, a 50% pay raise. The proposal that is on the table would cut the property tax millage rate by half a mill.

As has been pointed out, this will save the owner of a home assessed at $150,000 less than a penny a day. The result would be to cut by 50% the proposed pay raise for city employees who are underpaid when compared to surrounding municipalities.

If this troubles you as it does me, it’s time to let your feelings be known.
