As another birthday comes and goes, I am left thinking back on the previous year and the lessons I have learned along the way. 

In a profession like mine, I am always learning and always hoping to improve my craft. In the past year, I am happy to say that I’ve done just that. 

I’ve always said the art of journalism is being able to thoroughly explain the process of buying a home without actually have gone through the process personally. In the past year, not only have I bought my first home, but I have also had the opportunity to learn more about other aspects of my coverage area to help me serve the readers better. 

In the past year, I have also seen growth in your favorite community newspaper, through the audience reach, publication additions and overall product improvement. This is a product I am truly proud to produce for you each and every week. 

The Covington News has served this community for more than 100 years and even though I have not been around that long, I am eager to continue to learn of its rich history.
