William Moyers Winn Jr., 84, passed away July 15. Mr. Winn was a native of White Plains but had made his home in Covington for many years. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1953. He was a 1956 graduate of University of Georgia receiving his master's in accounting. He did his internship in Los Angeles at Price Waterhouse from 1956 until 1958. He served as the accountant at the Newton County Hospital 1958 until 1959 and worked for Walker Meadows Garrett and Laney, CPA, in Macon from 1959 until 1963. Mr. Winn opened his accounting firm W.M. Winn, Jr. CPA in Covington in 1963. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Anne Etheridge Winn.

Survivors include sons W. M. Winn III (Judy) of Peachtree City and Carlton M. Winn (Teresa) of Greer, S.C.; grandchildren Matthew Winn of Peachtree City, Michelle Winn of Greenville, S.C., Patricia Vaughan of Charleston, S.C., and Susanne Myers of Katy, Texas; great-grandchildren Taylor Winn, Ryan Barbery both of Greenville and Grayson Myers of Katy, Texas.

The family will receive friends tomorrow, July 19, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Moores Funeral Home, Milledgeville.
