William “Bill” McCord, 70 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. He was born in Atlanta and was the son of the late Bill and Alma McCord. Bill was retired from Auto Train and Phoenix Crane.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Vicki McCord of Monroe; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Kevin Warwick of Jupiter, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Karen McCord of Boynton Beach, Florida; and Charles and Amy McCord of Summerfield, Florida; step-children Garland and Pam Witcher of Carrollton, Jamey Remus of Oxford, and Scott Remus of Covington; sister and brother-in-law Pat and Tom Billings of Oxford and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Marilu Putnam of Whitefish, Montana, grandchildren Dakota, Samantha, Hannah, Hayley, Christian, Kale, Aimeri and Colt, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Hieber officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, February 19, 2016 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altered Feral State Animal Rescue, P. O.
