Walter Andrew Wren of Covington, passed away May 1, 2012, at the age of 69. Mr. Wren was a 1968 graduate of Georgia Tech, and served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was an active member and deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church, in Macon. He was an avid Georgia Tech fan, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, working in his yard, and studying the history of Covington and his own genealogy. He loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Wren was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Wren; and his parents, Fleming Ernest and Gladys (Gray) Wren.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, James Wren of Columbus, GA, William and Crystal Wren of Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dan Harris of Macon; grandchildren, Andrew Wren, Abigail Harris, Kaylee Wren, James Wren, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wren were held Thursday, May 3, 2012, 11:00 AM, at High Point Baptist Church, 12025 Highway 36, in Covington, with Rev. Walter Turner and Rev. David Marshall officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery.
