Virginia (Jenny) Price Durden, 87, of Covington, passed away Oct. 5. Mrs. Durden was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Covington. She was a native of Monticello, where she was a star basketball player in high school. She lived in Covington for the past 58 years. She attended Mercer University and retired from Ace Hardware Distribution Center, where she was office manager. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and golf and was an avid Braves baseball fan. Mrs. Durden was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hesper (Whitten) Price of Monticello.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, W.R. (Bill) Durden; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Lynn Durden of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Delaine and Bill Reeder of Augusta, Gina and Skipper Kitchens of Birmingham, Ala., Susan and Bill Richey of Augusta; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bauman of Michigan, and Merrilynn Elliott of Monticello.

Funeral services for Mrs. Durden were held Oct. 8 at the First Baptist Church of Covington, with the Rev. Ralph Meaker, the Rev. Charles Reynolds and the Rev. Tim Barnes officiating, and interment followed in Covington City Cemetery.
