Truman Ray Boyd, aged 71, of Fayetteville, passed away May 19, 2017 from Parkinson’s.
Truman was born July 7, 1945 in Covington and graduated from Newton County High School, Class of 1963. He continued his education in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. During those four years, he was an aircraft engine mechanic and he served in Turkey, Thailand, and France.
After serving our country, he worked for Delta Airlines in Atlanta for over 32 years where he was engine mechanic, lead mechanic, and an engine inspector. Truman retired from Delta in 1999 at age 52. Truman enjoyed traveling, cruises, fishing, and camping, along with watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball.
Truman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nelda Fay Boyd; sons, Steve Boyd and wife Michelle of Newnan, and Michael John Boyd of Newnan; one grandchild, Michael Blake Boyd of Fayetteville, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kerry Clark will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 3-4 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home – Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge. Graveside services will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens at 4pm in Stockbridge.
