Tony Morris of Covington passed away Friday, May 14 at his residence. Mr. Morris volunteered for the Covington/Newton County Recreation Department for 15 years and worked for Cleary Exterminating Service. He was a member of The Church at Covington and was known to be the world’s greatest napper.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Lisa Payton Morris of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law James Anthony and Jessica Morris of Oxford, John Randal Morris and Tanita of Athens; granddaughter Arabella Morris of Oxford; mother-in-law Charlene Payton of Covington; brothers-in-law Jeff Payton and Phil and Cheryl Payton, all of Covington; sisters Deborah Martin of Lithonia, Eljuana Dailey of Conyers and Esther Martin of Hiawassee, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Morris will be Tuesday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at The Church of Covington with Rev. Phil Payton officiating.
