Mr. Tommy Joe Hardy of Jackson died June 2 at Atlanta Medical South. He was born in 1949 in Porterdale to Perry L. and Florine Woods Hardy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart. He was a dirt track champion at Senoia and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Kathy Hardy, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Cindy Hardy of Oxford; great-grandson Preston Enrique; mother Florine Hardy; brothers- and sisters-in-law Billy and Nellie Hardy of Covington, Gene and Joyce Hardy of Covington; brother Ronald Hardy; grandchildren Lee Hardy, Michelle Skinner, Heather Aljets, Aimee Oliver; great-grandchild Gracie Skinner; four other great-grandchildren; and sisters- and brothers-in-law Connie King, Faye Roper, Bonnie and Mickey Mobley, Darrell Roper, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Perry L. Hardy, sister Hazel McGiboney, brother-in-law Richard Roper, mother-in law-Dorothy Burch and father-in-law Calvin Roper.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 5, at the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Roper officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
