Thomas (Tommy) Jackson Hutchens, 73, of Covington, passed quietly Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born in Newnan on March 28, 1943, to Thomas and Alice Hutchens. For his livelihood, Tommy loved merchandising and selling. He spent most of his life working and managing various grocery store chains from Newnan to Covington and ran his own successful snack distribution company for more than 30 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather who loved supporting his local church, especially in the annual Children’s Harvest Fall Festival. Hutchens is survived by his four children: Connie (Randy) Reynolds, Ronnie (Donna) Hutchens, Donna (Sean) Page and Jane (Tommy) Carmichael. Also surviving is his sister, Alice Hutchens Bexley (Glen). There are eight grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Ali, Ashley, Daniel, Audrey, Hannah and Keanan; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Madison, Kaden, Braylen and Shia. The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan for visitation on Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and services will be held in the chapel at 4 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
