SFC Thomas H. Maloy of Walnut Grove, passed away May 5, 2015, at the age of 68. He was a 1965 graduate of Loganville High School. Shortly after graduation, SFC Maloy was drafted into the U.S. Army, and continued his service to his country until his retirement, in 1994, after 27 years of service. During his military career, he served in the 82nd Airborne, and was a drill sergeant and ANOC and BNOC instructor at the Noncommissioned Officer Academy, one of the largest training departments at Fort Gordon. Thomas loved his boys and granddaughters immensely, and he was very proud of each of them. He loved camping and family time - especially in Pigeon Forge. Thomas was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Myrtle Maloy.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Maloy; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony Maloy, Tommy and Brande Maloy; granddaughters, Kat Maloy, Torie Maloy, Jill Maloy; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Huey Long; brother and sister-in-law, Louie and Susan Maloy; mother-in-law, Mamie Durand McElreath; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Funeral Services for SFC Maloy were held Friday, May 8, 2015, 5 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Todd Heil, Rev. Kenny Dockins, Rev.
