Sara Sue (Mawmaw) Womack, of Oxford, went home to be with her Lord, December 25, 2009, at the age of 93. Daughter of the late John Harris and Alice (Shaw) Latham, she was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, where she taught bible classes, volunteered in the church office and was a member of the United Methodists Women’s Circle. She enjoyed cutting grass on her riding mower and traveled to many places in the United States, including Hawaii. Mrs. Womack loved watching and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Womack. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, William (Bill) and Jo Womack of Oxford; grandchildren, Stephanie Womack, Shayne and Cecilia South, Shawn South, Lee Womack, Fonda (South) and Scott Tott, Pat and Mandy Womack; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Womack will be held on Monday, December 28, 2:00 PM, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Brian Dale officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Sunday, December 27, from 6-8 PM.
