Mrs. Sally G. Phillips, age 74, of Mansfield passed away September 21, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1939 in Opelika, Alabama to the late John Henry and Nonnie Mason Colson. Mrs. Phillips was of the Baptist faith and a member at Cornish Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing; she was an Atlanta Braves and University of Alabama fan. Mrs. Phillips was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Dean Phillips of Mansfield and their children; Lisa and Tim Wayt of Mansfield, Angie Phillips and Mickey Cook of Porterdale, Amy Ford, Debbie and Donnie Jones of Covington and Adam Phillips of Mansfield along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, numerous other family and many close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Stafford officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2013. J.C.
