Ruth A. Wilson, of Covington, passed away March 13, 2014, at the age of 90. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson always put others needs ahead of her own, and she was the rock that held her family together. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time outside working with her flowers. She was preceded in death her husband, Travis H. Wilson; sons, Woodrow Lawrence Wilson, Douglas Herman Wilson, Ronnie David Wilson; grandson, Ronnie Gene Wilson; parents, Hawkins Seveier and Willie Alverta (Hunt) Snapp; sister, Laura Robbinson; brother, Abraham Snapp.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann Hockenbery; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Sherry Wilson, all of Covington; daughter-in-law, Carol Wilson of Hazel Park, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Roberta Vest of Clemmons, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilson will be held Sunday, March 16, 4 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Cory Daniel Stevenson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
