Rudy Max Belk, of Covington, died February 12, 2009, at Newton Medical Center, at the age of 74. Son of the late Gordon Belk, he was a Master Tile Setter, whose work can be seen all over the state of Georgia from universities, to schools, and public buildings around Atlanta. The two works he was most proud of was the Olympic Pool at University of Georgia and the Phoenix Rising in an Atlanta building. Mr. Belk also enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, deer hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Emily Belk of Covington; daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia and Timothy Hall of McDonough, Susan Maxine Belk of Woodstock; grandchildren, Tabitha Mason, Katie Hall, Kasey Hall; mother, Lillie Belk of Lithonia; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Julie Belk of Snellville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private Mermorial Service will be held at a later date.
