Mrs. Ruby M. Frazier died Feb. 23. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh (Rosie Lee Moss) Avery Sr., she was born in Morgan County in 1935, one of 13 children. Eight siblings preceded her in death. Mrs. Frazier was educated in Mansfield-Newborn public schools and joined Springfield Baptist Church, Newborn, early in life and became an active and faithful member. She loved attending church services and being on the Mother’s Board. She was preceded in death by her husband George Frazier Jr. and one daughter Lessie. Mrs. Frazier was a loving and outspoken person who loved to sing along with the church choir and did so until her health declined. During her spare time she enjoyed doing art work and playing Bingo. She was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are daughters Mrs. Martha Johnson of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Georgia) Houston of Oxford, Ms. Barbara Frazier and Mrs. Brenda Frazier, both of Riverdale; grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Cedric (Sharell) Houston, Mr. Eric Johnson, Mr. Omar Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Octavie) Wiggins; great-grandchildren Tiana, Cymone, Cayla, Jaylen and Channin; sister Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Corine) Banks of Covington; brothers Mr. Hugh Avery Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John (Frances) Avery, both of Covington, Mr. Frank Shy of Atlanta; a brother-in-law Mr. Ned Frazier of Covington; special niece Mary Nell Sanders; a host of other loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Newborn, with Pastor Moses Little, Pastor Dwayne Stephens, the Rev. Thomas Bristow and the Rev. Charlie Stanford officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
